New Life School and Orphanage provides schooling and a permanent home for 75 children, and schooling for an additional 100 children in Orissa, India.

The young couple who started the school five years ago started with eight orphans in their care and now have four children of their own as well. Unwilling to turn away a child in need, they treat each child at New Life as an individual, providing health care, counseling and sometimes just a hug or a shoulder to cry on.

The school building adjoins their rented home and has been under construction for three years now. WWCS donors have given generously to this ambitious project in the past few years, and the first floor is completed. A second story and a roof are still needed in order to serve the 175 students who come from all over to attend this unique, Christ-centered school in the center of strong Hindu and Muslim influence.

Completion of the second story and roof:  $60,000
Computer lab with internet capabilities: $10,000

Many children who attend the school do not come from Christian families, giving the staff of New Life School an opportunity to share Christ’s love and principles with the children. For entertainment in this rural village, they sew costumes and choreograph dances to Christian songs.

The WWCS direct sponsor to student program will help address the true cost of education for these students, at approximately $175 per student.

Student Sponsorship Program:    $25,000
School Sponsorship Program: $25,000

In order to provide a permanent income source for the school, WWCS will provide funds for enterprise development, providing New Life School the opportunity to create a funding source that helps them achieve independence from foreign income sources.
