Comprenew Academy in Grand Rapids, MI

Comprenew Environmental is a division of Worldwide Christian Schools.  The mission of Comprenew is to inspire the local community to live and work in a sustainable manner.  This mission is accomplished through the mentoring of inner-city high school youth, who, along with committed staff and volunteers, provide the community with electronics recycling services that represent the best possible practices.

Comprenew Academy is an after-school and summer work skills training program for inner-city high school students in Grand Rapids, MI.  Using the business of e-waste recycling as a resource for application and learning, we teach high school-aged students and the community how strong corporate environmental stewardship is good for business.  To date, Comprenew Environmental is the only organization in West Michigan incorporating this philosophy in a real business apprenticeship environment to inner-city youth in the community.
