The Nehemiah Center

The Nehemiah Center (El Centro Nehemias) is an important partner of Worldwide Christian Schools. This center combines the resources of many ministry organizations like WWCS and promotes the School Improvement Process (SIP) program in Nicaragua. Essentially this SIP program is redefining the ministry of WWCS in Nicaragua and has great potential throughout Central America.

The statistics are encouraging!

  1. 20 Christian Schools initiated the SIP. The 2005-2006 target was 17 schools.
  2. The SIP currently benefits 3,706 students. The 2005-2006 goal was to reach 900 students.
  3. There has been a 13.23% increase in the number of students attending these 20 schools as a product of better services being provided by these schools due to the SIP.
  4. There is a 9.42 % increase of teachers studying today with respect to last year as a result of the SIP.
  5. 86.92% SIP students completed primary school in six years, in comparison to the national average of 46%.
  6. Last year, these 20 schools had 9.11% of their students quit school. This year only 5.98% of the students have quit, improving by 3.13% due to the SIP. Nicaragua national average is 46% of students quit school.
  7. The closing report states that: 21 schools began the SIP, one left (Fuente de Vida Eterna, but they have joined the SIP again this year); 20 of the schools finished their self-study; 19 finished their SWOT evaluation; 18 schools received an external evaluation visit; 17 received a Report of Visit and Certificate of Evaluation; 13 formulated an Improvement Plan and put them into practice; 11 achieved clear results; all 20 benefited from the SIP.

Worldwide Christian Schools is not running this program alone in Nicaragua. The SIP is a Nehemiah Center collaboration effort inside of Nicaragua. WWCS provides critical financial support to help make this program possible. WWCS needs to invest $20,000 annually into this effective ministry. Please be part of this success story with your gift of support. Your blessing is gratefully received whether it is a small gift or a large one. We thank you for your support.
