Filadelfia Christian School in Cristo Rey

COCREF: Filadelfia Christian School is part of an association of Dominican schools called COCREF (Christian Reformed Schools of the Dominican Republic). COCREF consists of 21 schools, 218 employees, and approximately 5,000 students. All COCREF schools charge tuition, and each school's tuition rate is based on the economic situation in the community in which it is located.
School Profile: Filadelfia Christian School in Cristo Rey began in 1983. It started with a kindergarten in the church building. The school immediately filled a great need in the community and the second year two more grade levels were added. The school outgrew the capacity within the church building and an addition was added behind the church. Since then, they have again outgrown the facilities and were blessed with the help of a work crew in 1992 from a church in Jenison, Michigan who built a second-floor addition for the school above the church.
God is blessing this school and it has outgrown its facility yet again. A new three-story school building was completed in 2005 to accommodate new students. Today Cristo Rey has grades kindergarten through 8th. It was an important milestone for the school when we could complete the elementary level education. In 1996 their first 8th graders graduated having gone all the way from K through 8th grade. Please prayerfully consider how you could join WWCS in helping to support this school.
