Continuing Education for Teachers

Since the demise of the communist block, historic Christian schools with hundreds of years of tradition have once again gained an influential place in Eastern European countries. Since 1989, WWCS has assisted its partners in Hungary, Ukraine and Romania to refurbish school properties to empower a new generation of students who will help shape the new, emerging Eastern Europe.

Most teachers in developed countries feel continuing education is more or less a compulsory part of their continued career as a teacher. For teachers in Eastern Europe, continuing education is quite a different story. Teachers in the three secondary and other regional schools in the Carpathian region of Ukraine have little or no access to continuing professional development. WWCS has joined a fund that seeks to provide and enhance continuing education opportunities for the teachers of Eastern Europe. This fund creates conference opportunities for teachers and administrators. Conferences are held in the summer as a way to help the long-term impact of quality Christian education.

Please consider how you could join WWCS in helping to keep a high quality level of education available to the children of Eastern Europe through the continued professional development of their teachers.
