Mkar Christian Secondary School

About Nigeria: The country of Nigeria is the largest and most populated country in black Africa. It lies in the sub-region of West Africa. Two main rivers, the Niger River and Benue River, drain it. The country received her name Nigeria from the Niger River, which is the biggest river in the country. Nigeria is divided into 36 states of which Benue State, where we belong, is one of them. Nigeria is a country with many ethnic tribes, over two hundred. This is simply because this part of Africa was colonized by Britain so we now speak and learn English as our language of instruction. Any person in Nigeria who has gone through the normal system of education in Nigeria knows the ABC's of English.
School Profile: Mkar Christian Secondary School was established in 1982 for the purposes of vocational training and evangelism. Developing physical fitness and learning teamwork are important parts of education at Mkar. The school has the following sports activities: football, volleyball, high jump and long jump. Students usually come for games and sports in the evening between 3:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. These teams are not strong because of the lack of sports facilities, which is a concern to the school administration. The school has built a solid foundation for itself, but now the rest of the foundation needs to be filled in by the generous support of donors.
