My Own Bible

Putting a Bible into the hands of every child.

Right now, 90% of children attending WWCS partner schools in Africa will graduate without ever opening a Bible.

We want to reduce that percentage to zero.  The goal of My Own Bible is to provide every child in a WWCS partner school with his or her own Bible, beginning in Africa.

My Own Bible is more than just a Bible give-away.  Educators in partner schools participate in Bible Study courses where they learn effective ways to introduce the Word to students.  When the course is completed, the schools are then given the funds to buy Bibles for their students in their first language, such as French or Swahili.

After graduating, each student keeps the Bible to bring home and share with his or her family.  Usually this is the first and only Bible for that household.  The Bible you purchase for a child may be something he or she keeps for a lifetime.

A $5 donation puts a Bible into a child's hands in his or her own language.

What Bele said:

"I am very glad to receive a Bible for the first time in my life.  My eyes have been opened to knowledge about God.  I now know that God loves me no matter what my background or the color of my skin, and that my sins are forgiven.  I am thankful for the My Own Bible program."
