Mission Homes

What is a Mission Home?  A Mission Home is a fund-raising effort that builds first-class homes using professional craftsman. Proceeds from the sale of each home benefit Christian schools around the world.

How is it done?  Schools, churches and organizations partner with WWCS by using a volunteer committee to coordinate the construction of each home.  WWCS finances 100% of the home during the construction process.

If the proceeds from the sale of the home are split between WWCS and another non-profit organization, it is a Covenant Home. If the proceeds are used exclusively for a WWCS project, it is a Mission Home. Either way, the funds that WWCS receives from the sale go directly to the school project designated.

Interested in a Covenant Home?  In this case, the purpose of the project is to raise money for your school, church or other non-profit, as well as a selected Christian school in the developing world. When sold, one half of the profits will be delivered to your cause, while the other half will be delivered to the Christian school through WWCS.

I need details!  Here is how it works.  WWCS is the “owner” of the project and will provide all accounting, reporting, financing, and fund disbursement. The volunteer committee performs site selection, house design, community promotion, sub-contractor selection, construction and sale management.  The total direct cost of the project (including interest) will be deducted from total sale proceeds (after any realtor commissions) to determine total project profit. This profit amount will be evenly split between your cause and the Christian school upon, or immediately after, closing, excluding $5,000. This money is kept by WWCS for 90 days and used to pay late vendor invoices. After 90 days, all unused dollars from this $5,000 will be divided and distributed to both schools.

WWCS does not deduct or “charge” the project for any administrative expenses. Interest is charged to the project at the rate that WWCS pays. WWCS will provide the committee with regular reports showing all received invoices and total current project cost. WWCS is reimbursed for direct costs upon closing.

Although the credit line WWCS uses for project funding is competitive (currently at 4.75%) we encourage your committee to seek other financing that might be more profitable for the project.
