Students in South Africa read Bibles purchased by WWCS donors

My Own Bible is a campaign to put a Bible into the hands of every WWCS child. The goal of the program is to provide 4,000 children in Africa with their own Bible annually.

"Through this program, God's Word will touch the heart of everyone in Africa, from kings to the most humble of servants," said Mwaya Kitavi, ministry director of The Bible League-South Africa. "A hunger for truth is the common thread that leads to Bible impact. Africa will be saved but only through the Word."

Dale Dieleman, WWCS field director for Africa, is amazed at the positive response that was received from WWCS donors to My Own Bible after the program launched last year. Within the first three months of My Own Bible's inception, it raised enough money to provide 1,600 students with Bibles. "God has moved this program forward with lightning speed", he said.

In 2006, 3,774 children in WWCS partner schools in South Africa were impacted by this program. Each child has received a Bible to study in school as well as to bring home to their families so that they may share the news of Christ's love with their parents, extended families and friends. Entire communites are being impacted by the My Own Bible program.

Will you partner with WWCS in this effort? Five dollars buys a Bible for a child. It may be the only book they own, but it will be by far the most important book they could ever receive.
